When you think of stereotypical haunted places, what's the first thing that comes to mind?     I'll start first (though it's not like anyone is actually co-writing this blog with me)- houses, health institutions, schools, graveyards. That kind of stuff.      I will say, though, that forests are exceptionally creepy. But that's just me.      It's always the really big and spacious places that are haunted too. Like, do ghosts need a certain minimum of square feet to spawn? Like, I'm assuming ghosts aren't like the Sims, but it's very much giving "you can't place this object because something else is in the way." Like a ghost will be like "oh darn, there's a desk in this room...Bye."     But seriously, it's always the big and inherently ominous places. And maybe that's the mass hysteria of society. It could also be, though, that the big and inherently ominous places are...well, ominous. Like, hospitals don't exa

A lot of places have the reputation as "the most haunted place ever in [insert location here]." Still, it's always fun when they manage to live up to that reputation. But also, like, what exactly qualifies something as 'the most haunted?' Are there tournaments or competitions? Like, America's Got Goblins, or something?     But every so often, there's that little place that people unanimously agree is one of the most haunted. And it's not from a show, or from a Life article that never existed, or even monopolizing on creepy islands. Sometimes, it's just word of mouth.     Of course, it's up to the beholder to determine if these words are true or not.     Take the Tat Tak School, for instance. Just the name is enough to scare the pants off of anyone.     Settled in Hong Kong's New Territories' district of Yuen Long, the Tat Tak school first opened up in 1931. First, it wasn't exactly in the current location. No, that's not

In cities, it's not super uncommon to hear noise. Actually, scratch that- it would be more uncommon if you didn't hear noise. Or see weird stuff. But that really applies anywhere, if you think about it. Even rural places. Noise is just a part of life.     And a call sign for the dead.      I mean, logistically, think about it. You go to one of those field of screams, or house of horrors, or public bathroom of peril around Halloween. Yeah, the minimum wage zombie is going to stare at you for two minutes, but then they'll follow you and start saying something. Or someone with no self control will rattle a chain. Or a dad will crop dust everyone in the painfully narrow hallway and very nearly authenticate that fake haunted house.        You get used to it, really.      But you know, sometimes, the spooky stuff is outside. Sometimes it's stuff you blame on the wind, or birds, or people actively breaking the speed limit on the road. Many other times though, you really

Haunted Forest Park Cemetery

Arguably, cemeteries are one of the least pleasant places to be. For both parties involved.       I mean, unless you're like, one of those people that goes there just to chill, or try to commune with the dead. But we don't have time to unpack all of that.      But, you know, some cemeteries are more 'famous' than others. Whether that's good or bad is really up to the inhabitants. If you think about it, cemeteries are kind of like free retirement homes. If you're annoying enough, you're going to wake something up, and it's gonna be angry. Or confused. Or hungry. But I think that's more about zombies than ghosts (unless we're talking about hungry ghosts of folklore from literally all around the world, and I think I'd run out of time trying to unpack that).     We have a lot of unpacked suitcases.      Well, laying that to rest (laugh right now) let's dive into another famous New York hotspot for the paranormal. Which is, also, conve

So. This is my first blog post. Kind of thought there would be more confetti, or something. But I guess if you can't even afford a website domain, confetti is the least of your worries.  Anyways- right. This isn't a blog where I'm going to bemoan stuff, because this place is already gonna be as grim and creepy as it comes without that . It's also not going to be a blog where I post a goofy little anecdote or story before throwing the most toe curling recipe for quinoa at you. It's a blog where I talk about the paranormal and supernatural and a bunch of other long and fancy words.  And then I'll throw toe curling stuff at you. Before anyone is like "this is just some random ghost blog or something-" yeah, you could say that. Or, you could say it will be the very thing that changes your life. Because not every creepy thing is an old abandoned institution or area where things go bump in the night. Now, that said- let's dive right into something that
